At this point in the project a few early decisions are coming back to bite me on the bum - mainly the choice to walk all the flat, heavily populated areas first. That's human nature (or my nature) to tackle the easy stuff and worry about the hard stuff later. Now it is later, with all the hilly areas left and with Summer just around the corner. Trudging up and down the hills (in which the streets are long and few in number) with the heat starting to kick in, is my punishment for laziness :)
This area of Mount Richon was the site of a former vineyard in Armadale's early years, hence the wine-y street names. In the present day it's the site of some great big-block high-end houses and very steep streets. Only six roads were walked on this trip, whereas in Harrisdale I could walk the same distance on the flats and knock over 20 roads, easy peasy. Them's the breaks!
Also on this route I tried a shortcut to avoid walking back up Treecrest Garden (a cul de sac). This took me way off-road...
But going off-road is a little more interesting than hiking up this:

The photo makes this look like a meandering, gentle incline. It ain't. |
